Shawn Ogren (2)

Shawn Kevin Ogren

Shawn Kevin Ogren, 32, of Lodi, CA passed away on October 24, 2018.

He was born on May 26, 1986 in Lodi, CA.  Shawn had a beautiful smile and contagious laugh who made friends easily.  Like his late granny Ruth, he never met a stranger.  He attended Lodi schools and graduated from Liberty High School in 2004.
Shawn was a multi-talented individual.  Anything he put his hands to he did well.  He played baseball and was a home run hitter.  He loved basketball and was a several time champion in Free Throw contests.  He was also ball boy for University of the Pacific (UOP) for many years and Olowokandi once gave Shawn one of his shoes as a souvenir.
Shawn loved to fish from the time he could hold a pole.  There are of course many many fishing stories.  One time he fished of the Atlantic coast, Pacific coast and Hawaii all in one month.
Shawn became a “scratch” golfer and practically lived at Lockeford Springs Golf Course where he took lessons from Perry Manley.  He was able to caddy and play one time at Pebble Beach.
As a teenager Shaw tried his hand at painting and took lessons from Irene Schulz.  She said he was a natural and they developed an unique friendship.
Shawn loved auctions and went to Reppert’s Auction School of Auctioneering in Indiana when he was 15 years old.  He ran the live online auctions in his dad’s auction business in Lodi and Huisman’s Auctions in Galt.  He also did some bid calling and bid ringing.  He usually took all the merchandise photos for the auctions.  He was a part of the National Auctioneers Association family rubbing elbows with the world’s top auctioneers.
Shawn was well traveled through the auction business and family vacations.  He was adventurous and fun.  He especially loved cruising to Mexico.
Shawn had a kind heart and was always helping anyone in need.  He would give out blankets, shoes and food to the homeless on Sacramento Street.  He loved people and would always offer a smile. He had a soft heart for animals and was always bringing home strays.  He had lizards, birds, dogs, cats, fish to name a few.  His last rescue was Twister.
Over the years, besides the auction business,  he worked in a sports card shop,  worked making window blinds, power washing gas stations and Delta Packing Shed running cherries to name a few.
